The Sunshine Studio provides opportunities for adults with special needs to develop and maintain specific life skills through purpose driven activities and targeted programming.

About The Founder

Kalon Carpenter is a Certified Child Life Specialist and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. She has over a decade of experience working with individuals with special needs and their families. From running adaptive recreation programs in Utah, to hospital based services in DC and year round programs in Georgia she has a lot to share with this community.

Programs

  • Ray Of Sunshine

    An internship program for individuals with special needs who wish to become a volunteer or assistant program leader at the Sunshine Studio

  • Studio Sessions

    Our goal is to help adults with special needs nurture & expand their job skills in hopes of building a purposeful life through targeted programming.

  • Service Learning Projects

    A vital part of the program is utilizing local partnerships to provide hands-on experience for participants by completing projects or other tasks.

  • Family Support Consulting

    A contracted consulting service offered to families who wish to set up systems in the home to help with continuity of care or are looking for resources and additional support

  • Ability Awareness Workshop

    A personalized hands-on workshop offered to businesses who wish to learn more about working with or seeking to employ an individual with special needs

  • Volunteer

    Open to anyone over the age of 18 who wants to get involved in the programs and gain hands-on experience working with adults with special needs
